If you look at your comments re: suffering you will notice you make the comment that “…suffering is part of the human condition.” I agree with your comment about the redemptive value of suffering. In this case this is not a human that is suffering. I don’t know that there is, or isn’t redemptive value to an animal suffering. I do know that we are to treat animals “humanly”, whatever that means. No magic bullets tonight, just some thoughts.
